Since Friday falls on Christmas Day this year, I thought I’d offer up something a little different from my usual RETRO REVIEW and Fabulous Find columns.
So simply, I thought I’d share some Holiday art from my favorite comic book publisher, Marvel Comics. First up is a panel from a Spider-Man book by Ross Andru:

Spider-Man Christmas panel by Ross Andru
I think Andru does a great job portraying Spider-Man swinging across Rockefeller Center Plaza in New York, makes me wish I was there for Christmas!
Next up is a nice Christmas drawing by artist, Chris Giarrusso, sorry Chris if I spelled you last name incorrectly. It features Marvel Comics characters, along with Chris’ own G-Man character decorating their yuletide tree.

Marvel Tree decorating by Chris Giarrusso
Hey, is Daredevil trying to decorate Man-Thing? Ha ha, someone ought to help him out, but as he’s the man without fear, there is no chance that he’ll burst out in flames due to the touch of Man-Thing! You do remember that Man-Thing has that power, don’t you?
Also you might wonder why Chris has the Black Cat front and center, as she’s not exactly a Marvel A-lister. But then again, Chris has Iron Man and Captain America barely visible to the left of the tree.
Next up, is an image I found on-line that I have never seen before. It apparently is the cover to a Marvel coloring book. Any of you ever see this image, or better yet, have the coloring book itself?

Marvel Super Heroes Christmas
Sorry, but I do not know the artist of this piece. But if you look closely behind the big three (Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man) you can see Santa Claus, but also the Green Goblin, the Rhino, Loki and the Red Skull. So watch out heroes, Santa Claus isn’t the only one watching to see if you’ve been naughty or nice!
Before we wrap this up, here is another drawing by Chris Giarrusso, and I second the Happy Holidays sentiment being expressed in this art. I hope everyone reading this post has a wonderful, Happy Holiday season and that you spend it the way you prefer, and with the person or people you prefer to spend it with. I know I’ll be spending it with my family both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I’ll lift an eggnog in your honor!

Happy Holidays by Chris Giarrusso and the Marvel characters
Hey, wait a minute! It looks like this Marvel skating party has been invaded by DC Comics‘ Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, as well as, Image Comics‘ the Dragon, plus G-Man, as well. It also looks like a lot of cross-over characters are hanging out behind the glass too, but they are small and I won’t list them all, but wanted to direct you to the bystanders watching too.
And now it’s time to wrap thing up, so I’ll leave you with one final image, this one is also a Spider-Man panel, drawn by Ross Andru and I think it sums up things very well.
So with that said, I wish all my family, friends and fans a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, no mater what you celebrate. Take care and I’ll see you next week for a new Fabulous Find, provided you can find your way back. Til then, enjoy this unusually warm Christmas season, I’m sure we’ll get our share of snow soon enough, or at least where I live here in Michigan!
